Nicky Polansky

My name is Nicky Polansky, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I am currently completing my practicum and working under supervision while supporting clients across a range of ages, including children, adolescents, and young adults. When working with young children, I support the development of healthy emotional tools through creative, age-appropriate strategies that help them express themselves, build resilience, and navigate the world around them.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique goals, needs, and experiences. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore meaningful change.

Together, we can work on navigating your thoughts, feelings or experiences, such as anxiety, depression, academic and career-related stress, family and relationship difficulties or interpersonal challenges, as you connect with your own strengths and values and move towards the kind of life you want to live. I also have interest in helping you manage specific disorders such as social anxiety, OCD and trichotillomania. My approach draws from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centred Therapy. Whether you are looking for a more structured, goal-oriented approach or a space for open reflection, I will work alongside you to ensure therapy feels right for where you are in your journey.

As a practicum student, I am supported by the guidance of experienced supervisors and offer sliding-scale fees to help make therapy more accessible.

I look forward to the opportunity to work together!
